This badge will introduce you to some concepts in the area of Social-Emotional Learning, or SEL, and how you can implement them in your classroom environment. The focus of this badge will be how you can implement empathy and kindness into your classroom.
Why This Badge?
The role of kindness in the classroom is not a NEW idea or trend. But it is gaining momentum with educators as we focus on building individual environments for our students with purpose. Regardless of the age or grade level, the goal of SEL (social-emotional learning) is increased student involvement and engagement in learning activities. As educators, we need to think about how we close the gap and guide our students with intention towards showing more kindness, compassion, and empathy.
