Cybersecurity: Social Engineering

Social Engineering is the subtle art of manipulation, influence, or deception in order to gain control over a process, system, or person. Social Engineering is often used by bad actors and scammers by phone, email, or even direct contact to gain illegal or unauthorized access to account information.

Why This Badge?

Hackers don’t go after systems, they go after PEOPLE to gain access to personal and private information with the least amount of effort. This badge will train educators on how to identify and report cybersecurity threats to protect themselves, their students, their schools, and districts. It is important to remember that most of the emails and correspondence we receive are legitimate, but it only takes one bad email to do real damage.
