This particular badge will focus on students’ academic needs by exploring vocabulary strategies using graphic organizers.
Why This Badge?
Building academic vocabulary is vital to student success in the classroom. In order for students to reach higher levels of cognitive learning -- such as analyzing, evaluating, and creating -- a solid foundation for academic vocabulary needs to be in place. By incorporating Tier 1 vocabulary interventions into the classroom, teachers can help all students achieve academic success. This badge will discuss how creating digital vocabulary graphic organizers across three platforms -- Padlet, Quizlet, and Google Slides -- can allow teachers to assist their students in building that academic vocabulary foundation.
